A typical evening at home
Jed helped me to make "guac" (guacamole) this evening. His concept of helping was to do a few stirs and taste test by licking the spoon. After directing him to not lick the spoon he casually replied, "okay Papa." Cleverly, after the next set of stirring, he removed the spoon and nearly began to lick it when he stopped, swiped the spoon with his finger, and licked his finger.
Papa - "Jed, do you like you like the guac?"
Jed - "Um hum, I like it."
Papa -"What does it taste like?"
Jed -"Dirt"
Bueni took notice that Jed was eating chips and guac and began to linger at his feet for missed bites. Before long, Jed commented, "Bueni have a little spit-up?". "No", I said, "that's actually drool". Jed replied, "Bueni need wipe". If only she were so civil, I pondered.
...meanwhile Peter's head is lowered, shaking in disbelief at the evening, and laughing in glee. A life of stories, and with others to share it with, makes for a good life.
