Jed's first "bites"

"Why am I wearing this funny looking cloth around my neck Mom?"

"Umm, that was good. More Rice Cereal please!"

Christmas with family

Then it was off to get "warm" at home

The tree is up, the lights are bright, and now we just need to see you during this season!

.. . And off we went into the snow

In celebration of Mike Barbee's birthday, we headed into the beautiful Arapho National forest by snowshoe. We think Jed really enjoyed the views, as he was near speechless the entire hike. I suppose he could have been frozen for all we knew, but we choose to think he had fun.

Snowshoeing on Berthoud Pass

Fun times trying to get little hands into little mittens. The little fella could hardly move by the time we were finished with him. But, he can't say he was ever cold!

Tummy Time in the kitchen

"Uh oh... I hear Bueni coming..."
"Mom! Bueni's right above me! Tell her to sit!"
"Oh man, a wet one, right across my face. I knew it was coming."

Movie: Up, down, Up, down

Jed is learning that it takes a lot of energy to play host and entertain his Dodge grandparents.

Movie: "Thanksgiving Day" walk

While Grandbob and Nana were stuck in traffic on I-25 towards Littleton, we decided to burn some calories pre-dinner so that we could justify our second-helpings to come. Jed meanwhile focused on staying warm.

"Thanksgiving" Dinner in Littleton

Thanks DeKruifs for sharing your warm Alaskan sweater with me! Very colorful too!

Winter-walk after Thanksgiving

Always happy to go on a walk with Mom and Dad and Bueni...

If you look closely, you'll see a member of the neighborhood coyote pack. (look to the right of center, near the bushes)

Bueni was feeling festive and wore her "Christmas collar", jingle bells and all.

Movie: Happy Thanksgiving

Jed is starting to "blow bubbles" (and subsequently drool) now, but refused to be so rude as to demonstrate his new trick on camera.

Introduction to family chores

Jed's weekend experience:

After a hearty breakfast it was off to do our family chores...

I decided to bring Mom with me this time, since it was my first real day of work

"Mom, are those really Bueni's ? "
All in all, I'd say it was a pretty productive day.

Snapshots of the past week

This photo reminds me a one of those posed elementary pictures. "Sit up straight, put your hands in your lap, and look at the camera." He's actually blowing bubbles in this picture. It's his latest trick.

"Uummm... Mom... Dad... Bueni's giving me the "lick-look" and I'm a sitting duck!"

We said goodbye to Leah this week as she has decided to move to Englewood to be closer to her church and have her own space. We will miss her greatly after 6 months of close support.

Colorado's first snow of 2008 (and Jed's too)

Jed was more fascinated with the snowmen on his fleece outfit than the actual snow on the ground.

Reaching, grabbing, eating

He's learning the joys of using his mouth more and more, and the usefulness that hands can be in that process!

Movie - Dad likes to eat my arm

Warming Jed up to the idea of being home alone with Dad...

Home alone, no Mom in sight

"WHAT?! What do you mean Mom' s not home? Are you crazy Mr. ?"

"Oh, you have a bottle. Well, why didn't you tell me in the first place?"

"Thanks for the new diaper Dad! I guess we're going to be good friends afterall."

Sunday was our first day without Mom's help. Tanya has returned to work part time, and Dad and Jed are trying to figure each other out. Fun times. Jed seems to be more comfortable with the bottle, thank you God.
